Steven ShippNew user to Viewpoint, went live on January 2, 2012.  Has anyone figured a way to password protect paystubs when sending emails, even if it means purchasing an outside product.

We send the stub as a pdf to an email file. The employee has to have their email set up in their personnel file. There is no password security except for the employee when he signs into his email so I think you are wanting to do a little more than what we are doing. I know the payroll lady did have to get some security set up as the administrator so she has access to do this.

It sounds like there was someone else who is using a program that has the security you are looking. Hope you find what you are looking for and Good Luck

While we do not use Viewpoint, we do email paystubs from Timberline using a generic inexpensive program called Visual Cut by exporting to a .pdf file and using the security feature to password protect the file.  This allows the file to go to an email address, but still not be opened by anybody other than the recepient.  The password is tied to the last four digits of the SSN, which is a field in TL and I'd suspect is a field in VP as well.  I've heard that a program called PdfExplode does something similar.

Hi Steven,

I contacted our IT Dept and they said there is many steps for this process and we called VP many times. There is alot of set up involved and he suggested that you call VP who will be able to help you thru and get it set up correctly like we did. They were very helpful but it took some time and doing but it does work.

I don't know if you have Connects, the business portal services.  If you do, employees are able to log-on and have all their paystubs available electronically.  This saves you from having to e-mail them and gives employees easy access to them at all times.

Hi Steven,

We have Viewpoint software as well and we just use our company data base and the stubs get emailed to your email address. We informed everyone not to give out their computer password.

Hope this helps.
